Where's the Saving?

Where is the Daylight I am supposed to be saving?

I can't find it, there is no more daylight today than there was Saturday!

Everyone tells me Daylight Saving time will save energy, but I can't find the saving there either. I get up in the morning and turn on the light, I turn off the light at night and go to bed. So what is the difference? My electric bill doesn't change enough to notice, at least in years past it hasn't. So where is the saving? I can't find it!

What I do find, is that it takes more than just a day to get used to losing an hour on the day the 'Daylight Saving' kicks in. I am still waking up at the regular time, only now it's 7 AM instead of 6 AM. (Glad I am retired and don't have to go to work!) I know that there are just about a jillion workers that are either late for work or dozing on the job until they finally get used to the time change! And what about all of those sleepy heads out there on the highways and byways, driving to work not fully alert!

Someone did a study (I don't know who, so don't ask, I am sure you can find it with Google) that said there was an 8 percent rise in accidents on the Monday after Daylight Saving time starts. I don't doubt it!

Of all of the stupid things governments do, this ranks right up there as being one of the dumbest! (I am still looking for that Daylight we are supposed to be saving!)

Things like this are what makes me grumpy!

Someone sent me a joke about Daylight Saving time. It explains it nicely!

When told the reason for Daylight Saving Time, the old Indian said...
'Only a white man would believe that you could cut a foot off the top of a blanket and sew it to the bottom of a blanket and have a longer blanket.'
